Curiosity kills the cat, as the saying goes. It may be the name of this Soi 23-extended coffee corner that lures one in to try out their expansive menu. However, the freely roaming house cats of Iwane Goes Nature should be left alone. Unless you enjoy the scratch of these four-legged residents, the curiosity must go to its coffee menu and auxiliary servings of foods and other drinks.
There’s something truly awkward in the setting of this long-term establishment in downtown Bangkok. With its wooden contours and rustic look and feel; its outside seating area with a hopscotch of chairs and tables; and its subdued-lit interior (regularly packed to the last seat, especially during the weekends) with dark hues from floor to ceiling, the time has shown that Iwane Goes Nature went from a curious place to a name to behold.
Whether seated inside or outside, Iwane scored well for a decent brew. From the stable caffeinated choices such as Americano, Cappuccino, Espresso and Latte, the brewing team is not shy about adding some experimental liquid for its patrons. Solid roasted beans, carefully nurtured and sourced from mainly home soil (Thailand), its natural theme runs all the way into its presentation of its cuppa. As if it blends effortlessly with an almost “Go Thai wild” decor of its compound. Occasionally, it does spruces up its coffee menu with exotic alternatives; pricy, though, but for true coffee connoisseurs, worth a stop for some exiting productivity juice from beyond the Thai borders.
It’s definitely worth giving Iwane Goes Nature a visit and a try unless you do not enjoy seeing a cat allergy boiling up and spoiling your break away from the hustle and bustle of frenetic Bangkok. Although the purity of a rounded sip of coffee remains our forte, the condiments in the form of breakfast and lunch choices are an add-on worth mentioning.
